About me
I am a biologist with a PhD, and my research background includes a thesis in biotechnology. Using molecular biology tools, genetic engineering, and microscopy, we used a citrus virus to study its movement within the plant and introduced the instructions for it to express small proteins.
One of our greatest achievements was getting citrus trees grown from seed to flower in just four months.
For over seven years, I have worked in companies developing and marketing plant biotechnology-based solutions for crop protection and genetic analysis. My experience has encompassed production, quality, team management, registration, R&D, dissemination, and commercialization, providing me with a diverse range of skills. I have witnessed the development and growth of a small, technology-based company from its inception and have also worked in a well-established company with over 100 employees, giving me a broad perspective on organizational structure and process optimization.
The biggest challenge in outreach was explaining to hundreds of farmers how a biotechnology product that solved a problem in their tomato fields worked—an effective product that primarily needed to be made known and its operation clearly explained.
