About me
- Vicomtech - Director of Digital Health and Biomedical Technologies (abbreviated Director of Health): This is my main role and the one that pays me. The biggest implication here is that I lead CARAMEL, a Horizon Europe project on Personalized Prevention in Women's Cardiovascular Health during Menopause using AI and multiple data sources, which is attracting a lot of attention from the European Commission (https://www.caramel-project.eu/). I have also led other projects in women's health, notably those related to breast cancer (e.g., coordinator of DESIREE, Breast Cancer Decision Support), but also others in pregnancy, fertility, etc.
- EMAIA Health - I am a co-founder but without a formal title, although in practice I act as CSO. If mentioned, it's better to say co-founder. Vicomtech is also a co-founder. EMAIA Health develops personalized prevention solutions in women's health, something in line with CARAMEL, but right now it focuses on high-risk pregnancy and postpartum.
- Biogipuzkoa Health Research Institute (IIS Biogipuzkoa): I've been responsible for the eHealth (or Digital Health) group since its inception. Biogipuzkoa also participates in CARAMEL, although through the Primary Care group. This could also be a nod to María Pollán, since the IISs are under the jurisdiction of the ISCIII (Carlos III Health Institute).
