About me
I have been involved with the multiple sclerosis movement since I was 8 years old, when my mother was diagnosed with MS. At that time, she and others founded the Bizkaia Association. I served as director of ADEMBI (Bizkaia Multiple Sclerosis Association) for 25 years (until 2022), as well as Multiple Sclerosis Euskadi and Multiple Sclerosis Spain, positions I held concurrently during those years.
I am a member of the Board of Directors of the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation (MSIF), where I have contributed for 15 years. I have also been actively involved in the EMSP (European Multiple Sclerosis Platform) for 10 years, serving as its president from 2018 to 2022.
My commitment to the patient movement led me to become involved in the Spanish "Neuroalliance," created in 2012 in partnership with Multiple Sclerosis Spain, as well as to participate in the founding of the Platform of Patient Organizations (POP) in 2014.
Patient advocacy, health data, management, and social innovation are some of my main areas of interest.
Since 2022, I have been the Director of the Platform of Patient Organizations (POP), where I work towards a better healthcare system, representing the voice of patient organizations and advocating for the need for patient and association participation.
At the European level, I am a member of the Board of Directors of the EPF (European Patient Forum), an organization that, like the POP, represents the voice of patients in Europe.
